Itinerary
Day 01: Bangalore - Hassan
Arrive Bangalore Airport or Railway station our representative will receive you and transfer you to Hassan (181 Km). Enroute visit Shravanabelagola, a prominent Jain pilgrim center of Karnataka. Shravanabelagola is home to Asia's largest monolithic statue – Lord Gometeswara which towers 18m high. In the afternoon, visit Halebeedu Hoysaleswara Temple, known for its intricate stone carvings. Also visit the Jain Bsadis at Bastihalli (1Km) and Belavadi (13 Km). Check into a hotel at Hassan (or Belur) for overnight stay.
Day 02: Hassan - Coorg
Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and visit Belur (38 Km) which is world famous for its Chennakesava Temple. It is the only Hoysala temple still in active use for worship. Like Halebeedu, it is also known for its intricate stone architecture. From here proceed to Madikeri. Enroute, you can also visit Bylekuppe, one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India or Cauvery Nisargadhama, an island on the River Cauvery, now converted into a tranquil park. Check into a hotel for overnight stay at Madikeri.
Day 03: Coorg - Mysore
Morning after breakfast heck out from the hotel and explore the romantic hill station Coorg and enjoy the lush green forests, misty mountains and plantations (coffee, spices and orange). Popularly called as the "Scotland of the East", this place leaves a magical spell on everyone. A must see sights list in Madikeri – Madikeri Fort, Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat, Raja's Tomb and Omkareshwara Temple. From here proceed to Mysore (80 Km). Check into a hotel at Mysore.
Day 04: Mysore
Morning after breakfast explore the royal city of gardens Mysore the capital of the Wadiyar Dynasty. Must see sights in Mysore – Mysore Palace, Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallary, Rail Museum, St Philomena's Cathedral, Mysore Zoo, Brindavan Gardens, Folklore Museum. Overnight stay back at the hotel in Mysore.
Day 05: Mysore – Bangalore - Departure
Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and visit Chamundi Hill (13 Km). Visit also Srirangapatna (16 Km), the fortress of the legendary warrior king Tippu Sultan. Inside the fortress visit the celebrated Ramgamatja Swau Temple, Tipu's mosque with its twin minarets, Tipu's Summer Palace, dungeons and the Wellesley Bridge. You can also visit Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary (19Km) where the Cauvery River meanders around a string of tiny islets. Also enjoy the excitement of a boat ride that takes you within touching distance of the birds. Then proceed to Bangalore (128 Km) for your return journey back with all the memories of an exciting and relaxing tour.
